Kathryn S. Wallrabenstein
KATHRYN S. WALLRABENSTEIN is an associate in Taft’s Corporate Compliance & White Collar Criminal Defense practice. She represents individuals and entities who are being prosecuted in state and federal courts, as well as individuals and entities who are involved with government and regulatory investigations. Prior to joining Taft, Katie practiced at a boutique criminal defense law firm in Columbus.
Katie has experience handling a wide range of cases, including white-collar crimes, drug crimes, and health care fraud. She has represented clients in a range of courtroom settings, including jury trials in state and federal courts. Katie has also argued matters before the Tenth District Court of Appeals and represented individuals in motion hearings. Her experience with every phase of litigation, from discovery and motions practice to trials and appeals, enables her to effectively represent clients in all stages of a case.
She understands that mental health and substance abuse issues can be contributing factors to the circumstances that bring about criminal proceedings. Addressing these issues is often part of Katie’s representation of clients. She has experience identifying these issues and connecting clients with appropriate mental health and substance abuse resources.
During her undergraduate and law school careers, Katie was nationally ranked as a top competitor in mock trial and trial team. During her final year at Moritz, she was recognized for her outstanding advocacy on behalf of clients she represented through the Criminal Defense Clinic. Katie was also awarded the honor of membership into the Order of Barristers for her excellence in courtroom advocacy.
Kathie has been recognized as a Rising Star 2017 by Ohio Super Lawyers in the Criminal Defense: White Collar area of law.
Outside of practicing law, Katie enjoys spending time at the stable with her horse.
