BRIAN C. EATON is an associate in Taft’s Business & Finance group. He focuses his practice on technology law, specifically privacy and data security. He has experience in all aspects of the burgeoning privacy law field, including advising on international data transfer regulations. Brian was instrumental in the development of Taft’s Data Breach Recovery Plan.
A regular contributor to Taft’s Privacy and Data Security Insight blog, Brian writes on topics such as industrial control systems and the importance of having a data breach response plan. He has also drafted law updates on the significance of new government regulations concerning cybersecurity. Recent posts include:

Brian earned his J.D. and an LL.M. in Information Technology & Privacy Law from The John Marshall Law School. He received his B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Brian holds some of the highest certifications in privacy and data security, including the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and the Certified Information Privacy Professional designation for the United States (CIPP/US), European Union (CIPP/E), Canada (CIPP/C), Asia (CIPP/A) and in Government (CIPP/G).
