CARY M. SNYDER primarily practices in the area of complex commercial litigation.  He has experience in diverse litigation matters, including commercial contract disputes, Lanham Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, consumer class actions, antitrust, and shareholder derivative lawsuits.  He has worked on behalf of clients in the health care, education, and credit reporting industries, among others, with an emphasis on reimbursement disputes between hospitals and health insurers.

Cary has experience in many stages of litigation, from drafting complaints through dispositive motions, discovery, settlement, and arbitration.  Prior to joining Taft, he was an associate for five years in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office of an international law firm where he focused on complex litigation and government regulatory matters on the side of health care providers.

Cary received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was an editor of the Minnesota Law Review. He graduated from Kenyon College with a B.A. in English and History.  He also holds a master’s degree from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. 

Prior to attending law school, Cary was a reporter and writer for newspapers and online publications in Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming.
