The challenges of compliance with wage and hour laws continue to increase. Proposed new regulations would eliminate overtime exemptions for employees earning less than $50,440 per year. On a separate but related issue, recent guidance from the Department of Labor concludes that “most workers are employees” rather than independent contractors. In this complimentary seminar, Taft attorneys Justin Flamm and Sarah Clay Leyshock will discuss these developments as well as best practices for minimizing liability risks from both types of classification questions.
