Taft Attorney Ashanta-Barker Appointed To Hamilton County Juvenile Justice Committee

Cincinnati, OH, June 19, 2008 – Terrance L. Ashanta-Barker, an attorney at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, was recently appointed to the Hamilton County Juvenile Justice Committee (HCJJC). Related to the Hamilton County Criminal Justice Commission, the Juvenile Justice Committee analyzes the overall administration, coordination and effectiveness of the juvenile justice system within Hamilton County.
The newly formed Juvenile Justice Committee works to identify young people who are at-risk for the criminal justice system, and provide services and proactive solutions to them. Serving on a committee of 20 members, Ashanta-Barker will be involved in making recommendations and guiding the implementation of initiatives in various areas, including:
Additionally, Ashanta-Barker is a board member of the Cincinnati Business Incubator, the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation and Freedom YP. He is also a volunteer for the Young Bankers Program, a financial literacy program for inner-city youth, and various other community service initiatives.
