« Back Attorney J. David Ruffner Joins Dayton Office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister

Dayton, OH, July 8, 2008 – Attorney J. David Ruffner has joined the Dayton office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. As Of Counsel, he will become a member of the firm's Business and Finance group.

On joining the firm, Ruffner said, “I look forward to working with a great group of lawyers who, as a team, are truly helping clients meet their entrepreneurial, business and legal needs.” Previously, Ruffner has negotiated and worked on numerous start-ups, acquisitions, mergers, and sales and purchases of companies in a broad range of industries and businesses.

Ruffner is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his undergraduate degree in business from Wright State University in 1983. He earned his juris doctorate degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1994. Ruffner is licensed to practice law in Ohio and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth District, and the U.S. Tax Court.  Prior to joining Taft, he practiced at Chernesky, Heyman & Kress P.L.L.

Additionally, Ruffner has been actively involved in several professional and civic organizations including the American Bar, Ohio State Bar, and Dayton Bar Associations; Advocates for Basic Legal Equality and Legal Aid of Western Ohio, member of Boards of Trustees and Treasurer of both organizations; Unified Health Solutions, current member of Board of Trustees; Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio, past member and President of Board of Trustees; and Senior Resource Connection, past member of Board of Trustees and Executive Committee.
