Taft partner Julia B. Meister will present at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel ("ACTEC") fall national meeting in Charleston, S.C., on Oct. 21, 2016. She will speak to the membership on the following topics:

  • The Use (and Abuse) of Financial Powers of Attorney, Funded Revocable Trusts and Adult Guardianships: Detecting, Redressing and Preventing Elder Financial Abuse.
  • End of Life Medical Decision-Making: A discussion of the crucial importance of "lifetime" health care planning designed to assure that effective documents are in place when needed, and an examination of the potential consequences to clients, their families and the health care system when such planning is neglected.

Meister is a member of Taft's Litigation, Health & Life Sciences and Private Client groups and heads the firm’s Cincinnati Estates, Trusts and Fiduciary Litigation practice. She is an elected fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
