Wager Speaks at China M&A Summit

Taft partner Michael Wager was a featured speaker at GIC's 14th Annual China Mergers and Acquisitions Summit, held in Shanghai on Jan. 18, 2017. Wager’s topic “Investment and Acquisition in the U.S. Middle Market: Cross-Border Transactions and the Trump Administration” covered the prospects of a new administration and tax and spending policies, as well as the effects on Foreign Direct Investment in the U.S. (FDIUS).

The summit was attended by 120 CEOs and M&A leaders from leading international and Chinese domestic companies. A series of presentations delivered updates on the latest legislations, case studies, policies and regulations on foreign M&A in China, as well Chinese outbound M&A.
 
Wager is chair of Taft’s national Business & Finance Group. He has extensive experience representing companies and investors in cross-border transactions. Wager represents private and publicly-held entities in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, corporate finance, corporate governance and regulatory compliance (including SEC and CFTC matters), and strategic growth initiatives.
