DAYTON, OH – Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP was named the 2008 John H. Patterson Corporate Partner of the Year Award winner by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce at its annual membership meeting today. The honor is awarded to a company that has been an exemplary partner with the Chamber to improve the business environment for members and the Greater Dayton community.

According to Chamber president and CEO Phil Parker, “The law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister was a valuable partner with the chamber in 2008 and 2009. This partnership has included support for two of the chamber’s largest public policy initiatives in 2008.  This also includes advocacy and Chamber member education on the Ohio Healthy Families Act in the fall of 2008, and sponsorship of an OHFA seminar for Chamber members.”

This marks the seventh year the Chamber has awarded the Patterson honor to a private business. Nominations are submitted by the staff and the Chamber’s Board of Trustees considers the following criteria in determining the award winner:

• Support of the Chamber ’s mission and vision
• Direct impact on the success of member businesses
• Overall impact on the success of the community
• Support of Chamber staff in the execution of initiatives and plans

The award is dedicated to the spirit of John H. Patterson, the co-founder of the National Cash Register Company and the founder of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce more than 100 years ago.
