Four Taft Attorneys Recognized as Leadership in Law Honorees

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is please to announce four Indianapolis attorneys were recently recognized as Leadership in Law honorees.  Partners Edward W. Harris and Marci A. Reddick were honored as Distinguished Barristers and associates Lindy L. Burris and Liz J. Raynor were recognized as Up and Coming Lawyers by Indiana Lawyer.

Indiana Lawyer annually honors Indiana attorneys who make meaningful contributions not only to the legal profession but to their communities and beyond. The Distinguished Barrister and Up and Coming Lawyer Awards honor such members of the legal community.

Harris is co-chair of Taft’s Litigation Department and represents clients in a wide range of business disputes. His experience primarily involves antitrust and class action disputes, where he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in cases in federal trial and appellate courts throughout the United States. Harris has been involved with several professional and community organizations throughout his career, including a Legal Services Organization neighborhood office, the Indiana Civil Liberties Union, Methodist Hospital Institutional Review Board and Park Tudor School.

Reddick is a partner in Taft’s Real Estate and Business & Finance practice groups.  She represents clients in all phases of real estate acquisition, sales, finance, and development.  Reddick has been very involved with professional legal organizations during her 25 years of practicing law, including the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana Business Law Survey Commission. In recent years she has served as founder and director of Out Run the Sun, Inc. and served on the Executive Committee of the Indianapolis Bar Association Real Estate and Land Use Sections.
 
Burris is a member of Taft’s Litigation and Environmental Law Practice Groups. She concentrates her practice in civil litigation, toxic tort litigation, and environmental law. Burris has been active within the Indianapolis community. She serves as a volunteer attorney for the Indianapolis Pro Bono Project and is a member of the Southern District of Indiana’s Mediation Assistance Program. Burris received the 2009 Indiana State Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award for her achievements in law.

Raynor is a member of the firm’s Business Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditor Rights and Business and Finance practice groups. She currently specializes in chapter 11 reorganizations, work-out deals and strategic acquisitions for the firm’s private equity clients.  Raynor is actively involved in several professional and community organizations. She volunteers for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, serves as a mock trial court judge during the Indiana State High School Mock Trial Competition and performs pro bono work for minors in need of legal services.

Honorees were recognized in the April 28 issue of The Indiana Lawyer. New and past honorees will be celebrated at a reception in May.
