Associate - Intellectual Property

Taft is seeking a team-oriented associate to join our Intellectual Property group.

Taft Law is seeking an associate with an advanced degree and 4+ years of patent prosecution experience. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, superior academic credentials, with backgrounds in one of the following fields: biology, cellular biology, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, biotechnology, cancer biology, pharmacology, bioengineering, microbiology, and similar biological disciplines. Previous law firm or industry experience and current patent bar membership are required. Candidates are expected to draft and prosecute patent applications, prepare patent opinion letters, provide patent counseling to clients, and conduct patent due diligence studies in connection with business transactions, and work with other practices in the firm to provide full service to life science companies.

Taft offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, flexible spending, 401K, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, bonus and more. The salary range for this position is $175,000 – $330,000/year. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on office location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
