Taft is seeking a team-oriented corporate attorney to join our firm.

Taft is looking to hire a corporate attorney with at least 4 years of M&A experience (preferably as private equity buy-side counsel) who seeks to grow their M&A skillset while applying those skills in a high-growth M&A-adjacent practice area with leadership and business development opportunities. In this hybrid role, the attorney would serve both as a member of our [Tier 1] Private Equity M&A deal teams while also leading deals in which we represent representations & warranties insurance (RWI) underwriters facilitating the placement of RWI. Ideal candidates thrive in bringing order to the deal process by coordinating subject matter experts, addressing complicated issues head-on, and leveraging technology and support staff to enhance the quality and timing of work product produced.

Successful candidates must demonstrate: (a) hands-on experience leading M&A due diligence teams and negotiating transactions as a key member of a deal team, including purchasing RWI as part of a transaction, (b) a growth mindset with respect to both practice and business development matters; and (c) proficiency with modern real-time collaboration software tools (e.g., Teams, Office 365, etc.), and 4+ years of experience as a transactional attorney in a law firm setting or equivalent in-house role focusing on M&A transactions.

Taft offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, flexible spending, 401K, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, bonus and more. The salary range for this position is $175,000 – $330,000/year. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on office location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
