The challenges of compliance with wage and hour laws continue to increase. Proposed new regulations would eliminate overtime exemptions for employees earning less than $50,440 per year. On a separate but related issue, recent guidance from the Department of Labor concludes that “most workers are employees” rather than independent contractors.
