Department of Labor Publishes New Union Poster for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors
The Department of Labor has issued a new poster for federal contractors and subcontractors to add to their already crowded bulletin boards. The poster, which is required by President Obama’s Executive Order 13496, informs employees of their rights under federal labor laws including the right to form unions, to engage in protected concerted activity with or without a union, and to refrain from such activity.
Federal contractors and subcontractors must post this poster in conspicuous places and also post it electronically if the employer routinely posts notices for employees on a web site. Online postings of the notice require the inclusion of links to the Department of Labor’s Office of Labor Management Standards web site.
A copy of the new poster can be obtained from the Department of Labor’s website at www.dol.gov/olms/regs/compliance/EO13496.htm.
