Navigating the Illinois Restaurant Shutdown
Illinois Governor Pritzker has ordered a two-week shutdown of all restaurants and bars throughout the state of Illinois. The shutdown will be effective starting at the close of business on Monday, March 16 and continue through Thursday, April 30, 2020. All in-person dining will be prohibited; however, delivery, drive-thru and curbside pickup will be permitted. You can review the official press release here.
Taft has mobilized our Employment, Real Estate and Bankruptcy practice teams. We stand ready to help with issues related to layoffs, the pending paid sick-leave legislation, missed rent payments, liquor regulations and more. Further, we remain in close contact with state and local municipalities and will continue to pursue possibilities for economic and regulatory relief.
