Accomplished Finance Attorneys Join Taft Columbus
Taft is pleased to welcome attorneys David K. Stein and Lindsay S. Oak to its Columbus office. Stein joins as a partner in the Lending and Finance practice group and Oak has joined as an associate in that group.
Stein maintains a national practice advising businesses on issues involving a wide range of matters, including real estate, fintech, privacy, credit reporting, fair lending, data security, loan origination, and servicing and e-commerce. As an advocate, his practice focuses on federal and state financial services litigation, regulatory compliance, investigations and enforcement, consumer financial services, and consumer privacy. He spent more than two decades as in-house and outside general counsel for banks, independent lenders, and loan servicers. Stein also works with companies involved in the medical cannabis industry in Ohio on licensing and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Taft, he served as the Banking and Financial Services group chair for a leading Midwestern law firm.
Stein is highly regarded in the financial services industry in the region, being recognized in Columbus CEO Magazine, named by Mortgage Executive Magazine as a top 100 Most Influential Mortgage Executive, and as Top Corporate Counsel by Columbus Business First.
Oak focuses her practice on financial services, including consumer lending. Having previously served as in-house counsel at The Huntington National Bank and a consumer finance lender in Cincinnati, as well as joining Taft from a leading Midwestern law firm, she has extensive experience with mortgage lending, consumer finance, and advising clients on regulatory exams and enforcement actions. Her experience has given her in-depth understanding of the regulatory needs of banks and other financial service providers. Oak joins Stein in this move to Taft’s award-winning Lending and Finance practice group.
