Fed Contract Enforcement to Aid Small Firms
In October, defense contractor GTSI Corp. was briefly suspended from government contracting programs amid allegations it improperly received contracts intended for small businesses. Three weeks later the suspension was lifted, but not before Virginia-based GTSI’s chief executive officer and general counsel stepped down and the company agreed to restrictions.
The GTSI story is part of a string of headlines during the last year and Congress is now putting pressure on the U.S. Small Business Administration to crackdown on fraud and abuse.
