Bass to Teach at CBA with Former Rock Star and Author
Taft attorney Leon D. Bass will teach a 3.0 hour CLE program at the Columbus Bar Association on Oct. 2 with former rock star and book author Joe Oestreich of the band Watershed. The CLE program and book, called “Hitless Wonder: A Life in Minor League Rock & Roll,” explore real life examples of touring with a national act and the legal issues that arise.
Bass blends traditional IP and entertainment law counsel and assessment with IP and related business and entertainment litigation. He has a solid reputation locally and nationally for his legal counsel in trademark, copyright, entertainment law and general business transactions, as well as litigation in those arenas. Bass routinely advises artists, music venues, promoters, record labels, publishers, photographers and authors on intellectual property issues and frequently successfully defends copyright and trademark infringement actions.
A musician himself, Bass performs in the local Columbus band Grassinine and is a founder of the annual “Music in the Round” event, benefiting the Marafiki AIDS Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya.
