Brenner Pens Article for Best Lawyers® Women in the Law 2024 Business Edition Issue
Taft partner Victoria Brenner authored the article “Generation Gaps” in the Best Lawyers® Women in the Law 2024 Business Edition issue. The article discusses grandparents’ rights in Troxel v. Granville, a 2000 Supreme Court case maintaining a fit parent’s right to parent his or her child free of government interference. The case overturned particular aspects of grandparents’ contested visitation rights. Brenner emphasizes how, even after Troxel, state courts are still facing challenges with the tension between grandparents’ rights statutes and a parent’s constitutional right to make parenting decisions.
