Brey to Present on 2016 National Election at American Inns of Court, Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer Inn Program
Taft partner Donald C. Brey will participate in a 1.5 hour CLE presentation on “Election Law: Current Trends & Future Issues” as part of a panel of law experts on Jan. 13. The panel discussion, hosted by the Inns of Court Columbus, will explore the legal issues implicated in the upcoming 2016 national election and how current election trends are anticipated to impact elections, both in Ohio and nationally.
The American Inns of Court is a non-partisan association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals dedicated to professionalism, ethics, civility and excellence.
Brey advises and represent judges, lawyers and those who deal with the government on how to meet their ethical and legal duties, including defending clients against claims that they have failed to do so. He also advises office holders, candidates and other politically active individuals and organizations on campaign finance law compliance issues regarding appropriate fundraising and spending and candidate filings, as well as avoiding or defending slander or libel charges during a campaign.
