Brooks Smith and Newman Speak on Panel at Metropolitan Family Services Program
Taft Chicago Senior Discovery Counsel Regina Brooks Smith and paralegal Tameka Newman participated in a panel discussion for Metropolitan Family Serivces’s “Mastering Your Brand” program in the ongoing Elevation Series: Personal and Professional Development. Speakers shared their own experiences of perseverance and success with the youth participants. Brooks Smith was a panelist, and Newman served as a moderator.
In addition to the panel, Newman led interactive activities through the Calumet Center Altgeld Youth Leadership and Youth Build program. The program helped participants improve their skills in public speaking, mentorship, networking, and self-confidence.
Brooks Smith is Senior Discovery Counsel in the eDiscovery & Litigation Service group and supports the firm’s attorneys in eDiscovery and case management. With more than 10 years of substantive knowledge and practical experience in discovery, she routinely advises clients on project management, workflows, and defensible strategies to mitigate discovery risks and costs.
Newman is a paralegal in Taft’s Chicago office, primarily supporting the Commercial Litigation practice group. She works closely with attorneys and clients through all phases of litigation, and provides services relating to document administration, e-discovery, and research. Newman is also a 2L law student at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.
