Copp and Pleshivoy Recognized as Crain's Chicago Notable Women in Law 2024
Taft Chicago partners Kimberly Copp and Julie Pleshivoy have been selected to Crain’s Chicago Business’ Notable Women in Law 2024 list. Honorees are those who hold a leadership role in professional organizations and civic service initiatives, show significant impact in their role and/or practice area, serve as role models or mentors to other women in the legal industry, and work to advance inclusive practices in the workplace.

Copp is co-chair of Taft’s Gaming Industry group. She represents cities, states, and regulatory bodies on gaming matters, legislation, and related regulations between state/local governments and casino developers. Copp has extensive experience drafting legislation and related regulations, negotiating host community agreements between local governmental units and casino developers, conducting competitive selection processes for casino opportunities, and negotiating and providing counsel on casino development projects.
Pleshivoy counsels individuals, families, business owners, and financial institutions on estate planning, wealth transfer, and tax matters. She assists clients in developing and implementing their estate plans to address issues relating to estate and gift tax, wealth transfer, and asset protection. Pleshivoy has experience in estate and trust administration, post-mortem planning and tax return preparation, charitable and retirement planning, and estate and trust litigation. In addition, she currently serves as president of the American Technion Society for the Chicago chapter.
