Copp, Keshvani, and Pleshivoy to Speak on Corporate Transparency Act at ACC Chicago Summit
Taft Chicago partners Kimberly Copp, Payal Keshvani, and Julie Pleshivoy will speak at the 2024 ACC Chicago Summit at the Union League Club of Chicago on Sept. 18. Keshvani will serve as a moderator, and Copp and Pleshivoy will speak on the panel for the session “Best Practices for the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).” Speakers will discuss the latest insights on the Corporate Transparency Act, useful strategies for following the new regulations, and important details of the CTA, including beneficial ownership reporting, compliance deadlines, and more.

Copp is co-chair of Taft’s Gaming Industry group. She represents cities, states, and regulatory bodies on gaming matters, legislation, and related regulations between state/local governments and casino developers. Copp has extensive experience drafting legislation and related regulations, negotiating host community agreements between local governmental units and casino developers, conducting competitive selection processes for casino opportunities, and negotiating and providing counsel on casino development projects.
Keshvani focuses her practice on general and corporate transactional matters. She represents business clients in a wide variety of areas, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, regulatory matters, and debt and equity issuances. In addition, she provides pro bono services to the Chicago Architecture Biennial and acts as its Secretary and Outside Counsel. Keshvani serves on the board of Alternatives, Inc., an inclusive, multicultural youth development organization that provides a safe space through restorative justice and behavioral health services for thousands of Chicago’s young people and their families.
Pleshivoy counsels individuals, families, business owners, and financial institutions on estate planning, wealth transfer, and tax matters. She assists clients in developing and implementing their estate plans to address issues relating to estate and gift tax, wealth transfer, and asset protection. Pleshivoy has experience in estate and trust administration, post-mortem planning and tax return preparation, charitable and retirement planning, and estate and trust litigation.
