Cottongim Joins Taft’s Municipal and Legislative Team
Taft is pleased to announce that Ann Cottongim has joined its Indianapolis office as Director of Municipal and Legislative Relations. In this role, Cottongim will direct Taft’s objectives involving local and state government affairs by maintaining and nurturing relationships with municipal, county and state officials.
“Ann’s successes in both the municipal world and in the hallways of the Statehouse, and the relationships she has fostered over the last 15 years, make her a perfect fit to help cultivate Taft’s continued growth in both arenas,” said Chou-il Lee, partner in Taft’s Municipal Law group.
Prior to joining Taft, Cottongim served as Deputy Director and CFO of Aim (Accelerate Indiana Municipalities, formerly known as Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT)). As Deputy Director, she managed the Association’s finances along with the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers and Aim Affiliate Groups. Together with her financial responsibilities, she served as the Director of Trust Operations for Aim overseeing the establishment, growth and management of the Aim Medical Trust. Prior to becoming Deputy Director and CFO, Cottongim served as Aim’s Government Affairs Manager where she was responsible for the implementation of the association’s legislative initiatives.
