Covert Quoted in Global Investigations Review Article about Boeing
Taft Indianapolis partner Jason Covert was quoted in a Global Investigations Review, “DOJ likely to impose guilty plea on Boeing for DPA violations, lawyers say,” published on June 10.
The article explains how the DOJ is weighing next steps after issuing a May 14 letter to Boeing stating that the company had breached its deferred prosecution agreement (DPA) by failing to properly maintain its compliance program.
Covert noted that language in the DPA suggests the DOJ already had a consequence in mind when the agreement was signed.

Covert is a former federal prosecutor and experienced trial attorney who represents individuals and corporations in a variety of litigation matters. Prior to joining Taft, he spent more than a decade with the federal government, serving the last six years as a white-collar prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Criminal Division, Fraud Section, and before that, as an enforcement attorney with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
