Dressman has assisted companies with PFAS-related compliance and liability issues for many years and practices in the Cincinnati office of Taft’s Environmental practice group, which was the focus of the movie “Dark Waters” and the book “Exposure” regarding fellow Taft partner Rob Bilott’s seminal PFAS litigation against DuPont. Dressman routinely guides clients through the evolving regulatory, litigation, liability, and safety considerations for PFAS in the context of raw material/product supply and distribution agreements, state and federal permitting, litigation, and real estate and corporate transactions.
Dressman provides clients with a full range of environmental services, including regulatory compliance assistance, environmental transactional guidance, and all facets of environmental litigation. A significant portion of Chase’s practice involves representing companies in the pesticide industry, including manufacturers and distributors of agricultural, conventional, and anti-microbial pesticide products. He assists clients on a daily basis with legal issues under FIFRA (the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act) related to the production, packaging, labeling, distribution, marketing, and development of pesticide products. He has drafted and negotiated hundreds of contracts for companies in the chemical industry, including contract manufacturing, toll formulation, repackaging and supplemental distribution agreements, and advises companies on all facets of compliance with federal, state, and international chemical regulations. He frequently counsels clients undertaking environmental audits of company facilities and operations, and has defended dozens of civil and criminal claims by EPA and state agencies related to alleged violations of environmental laws.
