Gerace Receives Top Honor from Department of Justice
Taft partner Dominick S. Gerace II was recognized this month by the Department of Justice as part of the 69th Annual Attorney General’s Awards.
Gerace received the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Furthering the Interests of U.S. National Security for his “Outstanding Work in the Investigation and Response to a Domestic Terrorist Attack in Dayton, Ohio.” Gerace represented the United States in the federal investigation of the August 2019 mass shooting in Dayton, and was a member of the trial team that prosecuted the shooter’s associate for firearms-related charges. The award is the Department of Justice’s highest honor in recognition of outstanding achievements and contributions toward protecting U.S. national security.
Gerace is a member of Taft’s Compliance, Investigations, and White Collar Defense and Commercial Litigation practices. He focuses his practice on representing and advising corporations and individuals in complex criminal, civil, and regulatory matters. He recently returned to Taft after almost 10 years as a federal prosecutor in both the Southern District of Ohio and the Eastern District of Virginia.
