Hammond, Hicks, Hupfer, Johnson, and Gigerich Named to Indiana 250 List for Third Straight Year

Taft partners John R. Hammond, III, Bob Hicks, Kyle Hupfer, and Lacy Johnson have been named to IBJ Media’s 2024 Indiana 250. Larry Gigerich, executive managing director of Ginovus, an independent affiliated business of Taft, was also selected for the Indiana 250. Hammond provides public affairs services for clients on a local, state, and federal level. As a veteran of Indiana state government, he has helped shape a wide variety of public policies from state and local tax policy and environmental regulatory affairs to K-12 and higher education policy, tort reform, transportation, insurance, and economic development issues.

Hicks serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee and firmwide Managing Partner of Taft. He focuses his practice on complex business and commercial transactions, private equity and venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, structured financings, business advisory services, and structural tax matters. He serves as outside counsel for the largest private equity fund in Indiana, along with several other substantial and successful businesses.

Hupfer is co-chair of Taft’s Public Affairs Strategies Group. He focuses his practice on business law and provides counsel on various business and other legal issues, public policy matters, municipal finance, P3 projects, and strategic development. His clients include both emerging and established businesses, as well as individuals, trade associations and their members, tax-exempt organizations, and governmental and quasi-governmental entities.

Johnson serves as the Partner-in-Charge of Taft’s Washington, D.C. office and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. His legal practice focuses on public affairs and government with more than 30 years of experience. In March 2023, President Biden appointed Johnson to serve on the President’s Export Council, and in 2021, he was appointed as an At-Large Member of the Democratic National Committee. Johnson served on the Biden-Harris transition team and is a trusted advisor and supporter of many Congressional leaders and members.

Gigerich is a nationally recognized economic development leader with more than 30 years of local and state government, not-for-profit, and private sector experience. Throughout his career, he has worked on approximately 650 economic development and site selection projects resulting in over $13 billion in capital investment, the creation of over 110,000 new jobs, and the retention of over 220,000 existing jobs. Gigerich also serves as chairperson of the Site Selectors Guild, an internationally recognized organization of professional Site Selectors, and also is a member of the board of directors of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation.
