Knight Appointed by Governor Walz to State of Minnesota Cannabis Advisory Council
Taft Minneapolis partner Jamal Knight was recently appointed by Governor Tim Walz to serve on the Cannabis Advisory Council of Minnesota. Knight’s term begins on May 1, 2024, and will run until Jan. 4, 2027. In his role, he will help review national cannabis policy, examine the effectiveness of state cannabis policy, and review developments in the cannabis industry and hemp consumer industry, among other responsibilities. Knight will serve as an expert in minority business ownership on the board.

Knight is a partner in Taft’s Real Estate practice group, where he partners with clients to plan and execute the commercial real estate and business objectives that drive their businesses forward. He focuses his practice primarily in the areas of commercial real estate such as acquisitions and dispositions, development and redevelopment, commercial leasing, real estate finance, and environmental.
