Lasonczyk Elected to RefugeeConnect Board of Directors
Taft Cincinnati attorney Michael Lasonczyk was recently elected Secretary of the Board of Directors of RefugeeConnect, a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping refugees and asylees navigate unfamiliar systems, new cultural norms, and language barriers as they resettle in the community. In addition to his role as Secretary, Lasonczyk also serves on the organization’s Governance and Internal Affairs Committees.
RefugeeConnect was founded by the Junior League of Cincinnati in 2013 after an initial community needs assessment revealed a lack of coordinated education, employment, housing, healthcare, and other essential services. The organization developed a mission to connect refugees with resources to rebuild their lives as United States citizens through promoting coordinated services to help new Americans reach their full potential as individuals, families, and civic and community leaders. Since 1885, Taft professionals have been dedicated to serving the community through active participation in volunteer projects, pro bono services, and leadership on various boards of local organizations.
Lasonczyk is an attorney in Taft’s Employment and Labor Relations practice and focuses his practice on employment-based immigration law, including work in temporary and permanent visa categories.
