Lyndsay Capeder, director of transactional operations, recently shared insights overcoming gender disparities and working in the finance industry with the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal on a panel discussion featuring local women in finance.

When asked about the advice she would give to a younger professional woman interested in pursuing a career in finance, Capeder responded, “Acknowledge the value of your skillsets, even though they might not be traditional in the industry, and consider that other people might see things in you that you might not see in yourself. I started my legal career as a commercial finance attorney, and when I was given the job opportunity I was concerned because I didn’t have a finance degree or an accounting background, and when I talked to some of my mentors about this, they said, “Lyndsay, you have essential skills that align perfectly with our bank clients and what they need.”
