Macchia and Morgan To Speak at IndyBar In-House Counsel CLE Getaway
Taft’s Melissa Macchia and Donnie Morgan will speak at the IndyBar In-House Counsel Getaway event on June 16. Macchia will give an Employment Law update and Morgan will speak about hot topics facing in-house lawyers in the public sector.

Macchia serves as the Employment and Labor Relations practice group lead for the Indianapolis office and is also a member of Taft’s Mergers and Acquisitions Litigation group. She focuses her practice primarily in the areas of employment-related matters and litigation, as well as complex commercial litigation. Macchia has successfully handled a variety of significant matters involving employment disputes, restrictive covenant and trade secret claims, litigation arising from mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions, commercial contracts, and shareholder disputes.
Morgan is a member of Taft’s appellate practice and its public-law team. He has experience at all levels of the federal and Indiana judicial systems—including work on appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Indiana Supreme Court. He has served as lead counsel for parties or amici in dozens of appeals and served as the principal briefing author in others. He presently serves on the board of governors for the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association’s board of directors, and the Seventh Circuit’s Advisory Committee on Circuit Rules. Before joining Taft, Morgan served as the City of Indianapolis’s litigation chief and later as its corporation counsel.
