Maniace to Receive Pillar Award as Nonprofit Board Executive of the Year
Taft partner James V. Maniace will receive the Nonprofit Board Executive of the Year award for his service to the city of Columbus on its Board of Zoning Adjustment. The award will be presented at an event sponsored by Medical Mutual and AXA Advisors titled “The Pillar Awards,” to be held at the Ohio State House on Jan. 28. The purpose of the Pillar Awards is to encourage a charitable environment, recognize creative efforts that make a difference and demonstrate the ties between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds. Maniace is a member of Taft's Real Estate and Business & Finance groups. His efforts blend all aspects of business and corporate law, with a concentration in the real estate, land use and oil and gas areas. Maniace is known for his ability to find solutions to land use issues. This ability has been enhanced by his 18 years of service as chairman of the city of Columbus’ Board of Zoning Adjustment. He frequently engages municipalities, townships and counties on behalf of developers.
