Morgan to Speak at FBA Rising Professionals Symposium

Taft’s Donnie Morgan will speak on appellate issues at the Federal Bar Association’s Seventh Circuit Rising Professionals Symposium on March 2. The program is a premier professional development and networking opportunity for law students and young professionals practicing in the federal courts within the Seventh Circuit. Symposium attendees will learn about persuasive legal writing, appellate practice, and business development. The Hon. Michael Y. Scudder of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals will serve as the symposium’s keynote speaker.

Morgan is a member of Taft Stettinius & Hollister’s appellate practice and public law team. He has experience practicing at all levels of the federal and Indiana judicial systems, including work on appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Indiana Supreme Court. He has served as lead counsel for parties or amici in dozens of appeals and served as the principal briefing author in others. He serves on the board of governors for the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association’s board of directors, and the Section 1983 subcommittee of the Seventh Circuit’s Committee on Pattern Civil Jury Instructions. Before joining Taft, Donnie served as the City of Indianapolis’s litigation chief and later as its corporation counsel.
