Pierce Tucker To Be Honored as a YWCA Woman of Achievement 2022
Columbus partner-in-charge, Janica Pierce Tucker, is one of six women selected by the YWCA of Columbus to be honored as Women of Achievement 2022. For nearly forty decades, the YWCA has honored a select group of Columbus women who have made extraordinary contributions to their families, workplaces, and communities. The six recipients will be recognized at a luncheon on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
Women of Achievement recipients are known for uplifting their community, fighting bias, and empowering other women to do the same. In an interview, Pierce Tucker stated, “I hold many hats in the firm that allow me to leverage issues, particularly as it relates to the advancement of women and people of color.”
The YWCA has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for more than 160 years — from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform. The organization combines programming and advocacy in order to generate institutional change in three key areas: racial justice and civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, and health and safety of women and girls.
Pierce Tucker represents clients in all aspects of employment and labor law. She is also active in civil trial, appellate litigation, and commercial litigation. In addition, she is a member of Taft’s Executive Committee and serves as co-chair of Taft’s firm wide Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
