Polak and Metzger Article on Personal Liability for IP Infringement Published in The Indiana Lawyer
Taft attorneys Jonathan Polak and Matt Metzger authored the article “Personal liability for IP infringement,” which was published by The Indiana Lawyer on Dec. 7. Polak is chair of Taft’s Intellectual Property practice group and a nationally-recognized trial attorney who handles high stakes cases for both large and small companies around the U.S. He has appeared before state and federal courts in 25 of the 50 U.S. states, the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board and private arbitration panels. He has appeared on ABC News’ Nightline, Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren Show, and CNN Headline News’ The Nancy Grace Show. Polak is also called upon by local, regional, and national media to comment on legal topics of the day.
Metzger is an associate in Taft’s Intellectual Property practice group with a focus on patent prosecution and litigation. Prior to law school, he worked as an engineer for the Department of Defense on nuclear submarines. Metzger served as a judicial extern for Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush in 2019 and worked as a law clerk at Taft in the firm’s IP group from 2018-2021.
