Secrist to Speak on CBA Panel Regarding Dobbs Decision and the Workplace
Taft partner Matthew Secrist will speak at the Chicago Bar Association Labor & Employment Committee meeting as a panelist, discussing the “Fall of Roe and the Workplace.” Secrist will discuss implications for employer-sponsored group health plans in consideration of the recent Dobbs decision. The meeting will be presented as a webinar on Sept. 14 at 12:15 p.m.
Panelists will engage in a multifaceted conversation surrounding the workplace implications of the Dobbs decision, including ethical concerns with cross-state travel reimbursements, EEO and FMLA Laws as applied to abortion, and abortion as a conversation topic at work.
Secrist focuses his practice on employee benefits and executive compensation matters. He is experienced in a wide range of employee benefits matters, including tax-qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans and arrangements, welfare benefit plans, COBRA, HIPAA, and Affordable Care Act issues. His executive compensation experience includes employee fringe benefit plans, stock option plans, supplemental executive retirement plans (SERPs), employment agreements, severance plans, and various other forms of incentive compensation arrangements.
