Seramount Recognizes Taft as One of the "Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity"
Seramount revealed the Best Law Firms for Women & Diversity today, recognizing firms that utilize best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting, and developing women lawyers and lawyers from underrepresented groups, including people of color. Taft was among the 50 firms in the U.S. that earned a spot on this year’s list.
The firm was also recognized in 2020 and 2021. This infographic details some of this year’s key findings.
“Being named to the ‘Best Law Firms for Women & Diversity’ list is an outstanding honor for Taft, and shows our firm is committed to ensuring that women and minorities have the opportunity to thrive and pursue leadership roles here,” said Sonya Jindal Tork, Cincinnati partner and co-chair of Taft’s Gender Advancement Committee.
Today, women, team members of color, and other diverse leaders comprise 57% of Taft’s executive committee, 61% of Taft’s compensation committee, and 32% of Taft’s practice group chairs or co-chairs.
“We are proud of the work we’ve done to build and sustain an inclusive workforce, and we will continue our ongoing efforts to ensure that Taft is a supportive and forward-thinking employer of choice in each of our markets,” said Tracy Betz, Indianapolis partner and co-chair of Taft’s Gender Advancement Committee.
Seramount’s 2023 Best Law Firms for Women & Diversity application includes more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women and people of color and those from other underrepresented groups. Questions about family-friendly benefits and mentoring and sponsorship participation are also included.
