Stefan Stein Named to 2025 ColoradoBiz Power Lists
Taft (formerly Sherman & Howard) Mountain West Chairman and Colorado Partner-in-Charge Stefan Stein was named to the ColoradoBiz 2025 Business Law Power List, recognizing him as among the most influential and respected practitioners in Business Law.
Stein highlighted the merger of Taft and Sherman & Howard, commenting that the partnership “will sustain our success for generations to come.” The list notes Stein’s varied career experiences in private practice, as a federal prosecutor, in-house counsel, and corporate officer, as well as his community service work with nonprofits.

Stein is a litigator with decades of experience representing companies and individuals in complex business disputes, internal investigations, and government investigations and enforcement actions. He formerly served as the CEO of Sherman & Howard and has held leadership positions in the telecommunications/technology industry.
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Sherman & Howard combined with Taft, creating a firm powered by more than 1,000 attorneys from Washington, D.C. to the Mountain West. The combination enables both firms to deepen their benches of attorneys and strengthen their service offerings.
