Taft is pleased to have acted as fund counsel to 1809 Capital in the closing of its inaugural fund. 1809 Capital, a new venture fund for Miami University alumni, has also made its first investment and has a goal of adding five or six companies to its portfolio in 2022. In addition to generating a return for investors, the venture fund will also pay a majority of its carried interest directly to the Miami University Foundation.
