Taft Chicago Obtains Zoning and Land Use Approvals for Albany Park Theater Project
Taft Chicago acted as pro bono legal counsel to the Albany Park Theater Project (APTP) in obtaining zoning, land use, and municipal approvals for the conversion of a former warehouse building into a multi-floor theatre in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood. Since 2019, the team has dedicated over 175 hours to the project.
The Albany Park Theatre Project has premiered over two dozen original productions inspired by real-life stories in the Albany Park community. In addition to theatrical production training, their award-winning youth theatre program is recognized for its youth development and college preparatory and success programs for primarily underserved youth.
The Albany Park Theatre Project was featured in the July 14 issue of the Chicago Sun-Times for their new play, “Port of Entry,” in conjunction with Third Rail Projects. Read more here.
