Taft Cleveland’s ongoing efforts to support our local communities are exemplified by our attorneys’ commitment to donate their time and experience to help remedy the pressing civil legal issues facing the individuals and families who turn to Legal Aid for assistance. Several of our Cleveland attorneys also serve as “Partners in Justice” for Legal Aid, to bolster support of its mission and efforts among our attorneys, clients, and the Northeast Ohio community.
Founded in 1905, The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland is the fifth oldest legal aid organization in the United States. It operates four offices and serves residents of Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Lorain counties. It is the only nonprofit dedicated to addressing the civil legal needs of Northeast Ohio’s poor, marginalized, and disenfranchised. Legal Aid often tips the scale between shelter and homelessness, safety and danger, and economic security and poverty, by giving a voice to the voiceless.
