Taft IP Attorneys Recognized in WTR 1000 2025

Taft Intellectual Property partners Philip Bautista, Kristine Boylan, Jennifer Debrow, Ashley Bennett Ewald, Jonathan Polak, Amanda Wilcox, and Amy Wright have been recognized once again in the 2025 edition of World Trademark Review 1000The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, an annual ranking of the world’s top trademark firms and practitioners published by World Trademark Review (WTR) magazine.

Taft’s IP team maintained a gold ranking in Indiana, increased to a silver ranking in Minneapolis, and maintained a bronze ranking in Ohio. Taft’s seven IP practitioners who were recognized in 2025 by WTR were described in detail, as follows.

Bautista was recognized in the bronze band for individual practitioners in Ohio. According to WTR, he is “an astute litigator” whose “litigation experience comes armed with extensive first-chair litigation and trial experience throughout the United States.”

Bennett Ewald was selected in the gold band for individuals: enforcement and litigation as well as in the silver band for individuals: prosecution and strategy. She is described in WTR by clients as an attorney who “provides sound, grounded advice and practical, actionable guidance. Ashley takes the time to truly understand her clients’ portfolio strategies and possesses an outstanding ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-attorneys and coach business partners. Her friendly and straightforward communication style makes her an absolute pleasure to work with.”

Boylan was ranked in the silver band for individuals: prosecution and strategy. She is praised for her expert IP work in Minneapolis for over two decades and is described by WTR editors as “adept at representing clients globally, excelling in enforcing and defending trademark rights while consistently providing top-notch counsel.”

Debrow earned recognition in the gold band for individuals in prosecution and strategy. WTR editors state, “Debrow is celebrated as ‘a highly skilled trademark attorney who can help any company with full-service trademark support’. She manages numerous global portfolios for blockbuster brands and has served as outside counsel for restaurant chain, International Dairy Queen (IDQ) for over two decades.”

Polak maintained a silver band ranking in Indiana. As chair of Taft’s Intellectual Property practice, he has litigation experience in state and federal courts across 25 states, and offers “deep knowledge of IP and commercial litigation ensures a robust defence of his clients’ interests.”

Wilcox is recognized in the bronze band as a recommended individual practitioner. She is named “a versatile practitioner” by WTR, and “is well versed in all aspects of intellectual property. She makes use of her patent background to provide comprehensive counsel and unique technical insights.”

Wright is recognized in the gold band for individuals in Indiana.
