Taft Partner Dave Thomas Appointed to Franklin County Public Defender Commission
Taft Columbus partner Dave Thomas has been appointed to a two-year term on the Franklin County Public Defender Commission. The commission appoints and provides oversight to the Franklin County Public Defender, which is one of the largest legal offices in Ohio and the county’s designated agency for providing comprehensive legal services to indigent persons in criminal, juvenile, and custody proceedings.
Thomas is the Taft Columbus Litigation practice group leader and a member of Taft’s Executive Committee. As an attorney in the firm’s Corporate Compliance and White Collar Criminal Defense practice, Thomas represents companies, public officials, health care providers, and other professionals who are the subject of state and federal investigations and prosecutions. An experienced trial lawyer, Thomas has served as lead counsel in white collar matters ranging from ethics and public corruption to health care fraud, banking violations, government contract fraud, tax fraud, money laundering, and environmental crime.
