Taft Receives ISBA John C. McAndrews Pro Bono Service Award
Taft is pleased to announce the firm has been honored with the Illinois State Bar Association’s (ISBA) John C. McAndrews Pro Bono Service Award. The ISBA highlighted Taft’s recent victories in appellate work and zoning cases. In addition, the firm has taken on pro bono immigration cases, representing asylum-seekers with applications before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Taft also partners with the Public Interest Law Initiative through its work with Illinois Free Legal Answers. In 2023, Taft attorneys provided more than 2,000 hours of pro bono services.
Taft Chicago attorneys Ioana Guset and Andrew Murphy accepted the award on behalf of the firm at the ISBA Member Appreciation and Recognition Reception on May 16 in Lisle, Illinois.
Taft attorneys are committed to providing legal services to low-income individuals, nonprofit and community organizations, and public interest causes. Taft’s pro bono areas of service include civil rights, housing, appeals, guardianship, nonprofit governance, consumer, tax, veterans, immigration, intellectual property, family law, and service to the judicial system.
