Taft’s Intellectual Property practice group was listed among the top 10 firms in the 2024 Lex Machina Trade Secret Litigation Report, which shares recent trends and insights from litigation involving claims for trade secret misappropriation under federal, state, or common law over a three-year period. This year’s report discusses trends in trade secret litigation, including the number of trade secret cases filed year over year, most active firms and attorneys, case resolutions, damages, and more.
Taft was recognized at #8 for “Most Active Law Firms Representing Plaintiffs by Cases Filed from 2021 and 2023,” with 35 cases total. The firm also ranked #5 on the list of “Most Active Law Firms Representing Defendants by Cases Filed from 2021 to 2023.”
In addition to Taft’s firm rankings, Taft Chicago partner Thomas Pasternak was ranked #1 for “Most Active Attorneys Representing Defendants by Cases Filed from 2021 to 2023.” Pasternak, who joined Taft in November 2023, led the category with 27 trade secret cases.
