Taft/Sherman & Howard Grows Denver Office, Prominent Litigator Returns
Taft, which recently combined with Sherman & Howard, welcomes the return of Joe Daniels, a litigation partner who returned after a brief time with another firm, and partner Chris Haunschild, a tax and mergers and acquisitions attorney.
As a trial lawyer, Daniels represents clients from around the country in all aspects of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy, discovery, motions practice, trial, and post-trial issues. He has exceptional experience in litigating intellectual property and business tort disputes. Daniels was an attorney at Sherman & Howard for 11 years prior to departing.
“Returning to the firm feels like a natural choice as I grow my practice. Sherman & Howard played a crucial role in my development as an attorney, and its recent merger with Taft has strengthened its foundation,” said Daniels. “I’m excited to be part of this next chapter, where I can contribute to the continued success of the firm.”
With over 25 years of experience, Haunschild has advised companies in an array of industries on the implications of domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations, financing transactions, securities offerings, and joint ventures with an aggregate value of more than $100 billion.
“The work I do with clients is about providing them with the right resources to achieve their business goals,” said Haunschild. “I’m looking forward to continuing my practice at Taft and collaborating with the talented group of business attorneys here.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Joe back and add Chris to the firm,” said Taft’s Mountain West Chairman and Colorado Partner-in-Charge Stefan Stein. “As we continue to grow Taft’s Mountain West offices, the addition of these talented attorneys strengthens our ability to provide exceptional service to clients in our region and beyond. We truly want to be the employer of choice in the Mountain West.”
The Taft Denver office has experienced growth since announcing its merger. The firm recently welcomed three experienced litigators, partner Aaron Bradford, associate Stephen Segall, and of counsel Tara Williams. Bradford has tried cases in areas such as patent infringement, brand enforcement, trademark infringement, trade secrets, anticompetitive conduct, securities fraud, employment, professional negligence, premises liability, and breaches of contracts. Segall focuses his practice on trademark and patent infringement cases, trade secret and fiduciary disputes, unfair competition, medical malpractice, and complex commercial litigation. Williams focuses her practice in the areas of intellectual property litigation and transaction counseling.
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Sherman & Howard combined with Taft, creating a firm powered by more than 1,000 attorneys from Washington, D.C. to the Mountain West. The combination has enabled the combined firm to deepen its bench of attorneys and strengthen its service offerings.
