Taft Welcomes Albaugh to Litigation Group
Taft welcomes Matthew T. Albaugh as a partner in the firm’s Litigation practice group.
Albaugh brings two decades of experience litigating sophisticated commercial and product liability lawsuits. Among the cases he has led and handled are the Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse litigation, the Hoosier Lottery Cash Blast class action, multiple lawsuits in Delaware Chancery Court relating to M&A deals gone bad, nationwide product liability lawsuits for medical device and vehicle manufacturers, several successful challenges to the construction of industrial animal feeding operations around Indiana, and numerous high-profile internal investigations for public companies and non-profits. Albaugh also regularly represents clients in administrative actions brought by a variety of state and federal regulators. In addition, he litigates complex constitutional law matters in trial and appellate courts, serving as the lead outside appellate counsel for several organizations.
Albaugh graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University McKinney School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Indiana Law Review and graduated in the top 1% of his class. Following law school, Albaugh clerked for the Honorable Randall T. Shepard, Chief Justice of Indiana. Before joining Taft, he was a partner at an AmLaw100 firm in Indianapolis.
