CINCINNATI, OHIO – Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce that Brian G. Dershaw recently joined the firm’s Cincinnati office as a partner in the Labor & Employment practice group. Dershaw has broad experience serving as litigation counsel and outside general counsel for companies of all sizes. He has extensive experience litigating discrimination, harassment, retaliation, noncompete, trade secret, and contract claims.

 

Dershaw works closely with clients on projects related to drafting and implementing policies, employee discipline and discharge issues, employee contracts, reductions in force, and general legal issues. He also advises in the areas of wage and hour and employee and independent contractor classification. Dershaw’s labor practice focuses on collective bargaining, fact-finding, arbitration, and strike avoidance and preparation. 

 
Dershaw was recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine in 2010, 2011, and 2012 and is a fellow of the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL), Class X. He serves as a mentor to newly admitted attorneys in the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program and is a member of the Character & Fitness Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association. Dershaw received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, and his B.A., cum laude, from Capital University, which awarded him its Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2008. He recently concluded a seven-year term, including two years as co-chair, on the Peaslee Neighborhood Center’s Board of Trustees.
