Umpleby Joins Taft Indianapolis as Partner
Taft is pleased to announce that David M. Umpleby has joined its Indianapolis office as a partner.
With significant experience in structured financings, Umpleby represents clients in transactions involving public/private financing of both real estate developments and operating businesses. He focuses his practice on structured financings involving the use of tax incentives including New Markets Tax Credits, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, Opportunity Zones and state tax credits.
Umpleby received his Juris Doctor degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He is an active participant in Novogradac’s New Markets Tax Credit Working Group and Opportunity Zone Working Group, which are national industry groups focused on developing industry “best practices” for the New Markets Tax Credit and Opportunity Zone programs.
